GHNP was formally declared a National lark in 1999, scattering in near about area of 754.4 sq kms. The great Himalayan National park is a habitat to numerous 350 fauna and more than 800 flora species, including approximately 31 mammals, 180 birds , 3 reptiles, 10 amphibians,12 annelids ,18 mollusks,130 insects. The fauna of the park includes some of the exotic species of animals like snow leopard, blue sheep , Himalayan brown bear, Himalayan taht,musk, deer ,goral and many others.
